Dear Cristobal

We want to thank you for letting us stay at your house. We had a wonderful time. It worked very well with 10 adults and three children. The pool was very popular - lying in the pool looking up at the snow capped mountains was a highlight!

Sorry we did not see you before we left. Noel and I left quite early to drive to Valencia. We are now in Barcelona and will leave Spain on Monday (we go to France/Italy/Germany before flying home in late June).

Again, thank you!

Kind regards
Kriss & Noel

Dear Isabelle and Cristobal,
we have just returned to England after a week in your wonderful home in Spain. I once had a dream that I was sitting under olive trees with all those I love in the sun eating and drinking great metiteranian food, my dream came true last week and although I have travelled far and wide that was without doubt the happiest week of my life. Thank you so much all 14 of us will hope to return some day.

Kind regards,
Ken and Maggie Short the ramage Dixon family.

We want to thank you for a really wonderful stay. You were the perfect hosts- invisible except when we needed you.

The villa is special and we loved all the little touches. I admired the garden and plants greatly. I would describe the villa as very attractive and compact but with all the necessary amenities and in a good location for amenities, mountain walks and trips to the Alhambra and beaches. The pool and outdoor facilities are just what is needed.

Maybe you will see us again. What is the weather like in February/March?

With every best wish to you and the family. Thank you again for your help and support.

Hi Cristobal and Isabelle,

Just to say we had a fantastic week at La Custa del Almendal. The accommodation exceeded all our expectations and the garden with its lovely pool and glorious views was a super place to relax in. We managed a trip to the Alhambra, tobogganing in the Sierra Nevada and a dip in the Med. as well as various more local outings. All in all a memorable week with some lovely warm weather.
Thanks very much,
Liz and Steve Rossiter and family

This house has been very wisely renovated. Our group of seven had plenty of space, and we found the layout logical and practical. All too often, "charming" and "traditional" in a brochure equals dodgy electrics and creaky plumbing, but not here. The situation is also impressive, the gardens overlooking miles of countryside. We (brits) found early April warm enough for lounging outside in the sun and even the odd swim, with the big log-burner keeping us warm during evening meals. This is a great site for a family holiday, and having the (extremely friendly and helpful) owners next door is another bonus for those unfamiliar with the area. Strongly recommended to anyone looking for a good quality holiday retreat.

It might seem an odd choice for a mid-winter retreat. but ten of us arrived 26 December for a week of what we hoped would be acceptable weather and accommodations . . .
The first part of the adventure for five couples and two young children was actually finding la Cuesta del Almendral after having finally arrived in Orgiva. There is a reason for the Laloux-Kleins leaving instructions to proceed to the nearest petrol station, call, and wait for an escort. The way in is a turning rather rugged track through orchards of citrus and groves of olives. There was the standard number of dogs escorting, cats being chased and goats braying off to the sides. Once to the end and the entrance to la Cuesta del Almendral and you feel as though you have arrived at the place described in the "brochure."
The assemblage of carefully renovated old stone buildings making up la Cuesta del Almendral at the bottom of the drive with its surrounding vista of the Sierra Nevada foothills - frequently sheathed in mist this time of year - forming the near horizon and olive groves the immediate foreground certainly gives one the feeling that you have arrived in the spot exactly as it was promoted.
The la Cuesta compound was not only spacious enough for ten adults and two young children to not be bumping into each other but, even, rarely overheard. The grounds, including the pool, give parties of our size a variety of places to gather and enjoy sun, shade, surrounding vistas, or the privacy of a nook here and there, in addition to the seclusion of one's room with ensuite bath . . . five separate double rooms with accommodations for extra family in two of the rooms WITH private facilities in each is a huge benefit to maintaining good will and a sense of humour throughout the stay.
While we were able to lunch outside the days we were not searching local villages, the winter weather in the evening - temperatures around five Celsius - kept us in as we decided it was more fun and just as tasty to cook in. This was, if not easily accomplished, certainly executed without a lot of fuss. Lots of room at the table and lots of room in the commons to gather even before sitting at the table. While the kitchen is not spacious, it is capable of generating the three or four courses we put together each evening (six out of seven) for the ten of us.
While we had few special needs, whenever there was something, Isabelle and Cristobal were very accommodating and helpful. One plus for several in our group was the Laloux-Kleins being native French speakers in addition to their fluency in Spanish and English.
All that and the weather cooperated as well. A terrific time in a special place run by good and special people.

Thank you Cristobal and Isabelle

Quite simply the best holiday we've ever had. We had a problem with our car hire at the last minute and Cristobal and Isabelle could not have been more kind or helpful.
The accommodation was perfect and perfectly located; our teenagers appreciated the space and privacy they could enjoy and it was wonderful not having to fight over bathrooms! A (mostly) easy and wholly pleasant walk into Orgiva. The pool is wonderful; plenty of swimming room and well-maintained. The rooms have been sympathetically renovated and because of the design of the house the rooms are airy even in a particularly hot summer. The peace and beauty of the garden and the views. Beautiful walks right from the front door. A choice of places to eat outdoors with the minimum of biting insects. We could go on forever.
It was the little things that made it really extra special - the gifts of figs and olive oil, collecting almonds, gardening advice from Manolo the gardener, the kindness of Cristobal and Isabelle.

Thank you Isabelle and Cristobal for such a wonderful holiday. We still haven't settled back down into life in England.

Many thanks for your wonderful villa, and for all your help while we were staying with you. Everybody had a fantastic time and our family in England were very jealous when they looked at the photos. We have told them all that they must come and stay with you! The holiday was better than any expectations and we would love to come back to the Alpujarras.
All the best to you from all the Dawsons. And thank you again for a marvellous time,

Nigel and Heather.

Just wanted to say how much my family enjoyed the house.
The accommodations worked out great. Having separate baths and a variety of types of rooms is really a plus for a group like ours. The room with the walk in shower was great for the older folks and the double room with the shared bath worked out great for my sister, her
husband and their young daughter.
We enjoyed being able to dine outside at the big table. The weather was great and the patio has a nice view.
The large dining room was great and
accommodated the group very well.
I recommend your house to anyone traveling to the area. We enjoyed the walking paths nearby and the goat herd bringing the goats by right
below the pool! We do not see that in Chicago!
Thank you again for a memorable vacation and family celebration.
